On January 12th an earthquake registering 7.0 on the Richter scale struct the small country of Haiti. The earthquake devastated the island laying waste to the country’s infrastructure, killing tens of thousands and injuring thousands more. Just as the world wide relief effort began to pick up steam, on January 20th an aftershock measuring 6.1 struct the country. There are many in the Prince Hall Phamily who echo the words of President Barack Obama who said, “We have to be there for them in their hour of need...”
The Jurisdiction of Georgia is launching an effort to provide relief to the people of Haiti. Our first step is this website which will be used to collect donations from the membership as well as our friends and families. The donations will be used as our PHAmily’s contribution to the relief effort including monetary donations and the purchase of supplies. To ensure that our contributions make it into the hands of the people who need it, Most Worshipful Grand Master Davis has designated a committee to spearhead the relief effort. Additional information will be forthcoming as the specifics are ironed out including how you can assist us in making this effort successful. So please visit this site frequently!
